Deadlock
for ensemble and fixed media
Definition of deadlock:
a situation, typically one involving opposing parties, in which no progress can be made.
"Deadlock" aims to portrait various layers of the recent shootings and terrorist attacks around the world, by using real interviews and protests regarding this subject matter, and politicians' reaction to these events, all in a minimalist approach (all of these sounds are either in the public domain or fair use). The players usually interact with the electronics by highlighting the conversations or embodying different sound effects such as bombs, alarms, etc. as well as maintaining the intensity. Embodying the issue not receiving a practical solution, musically the persistent and continuous Ab tone in the pianist's hands at the end shift into the electronics and it never resolves to other tone.
